We have had a good start to our week. Jadon went to school each day. He even stayed the entire school day yesterday and today. They were only half days but that is still quite a good accomplishment. He has a little school work to make up from surgery week but other than that, he is current with his work.
Monday afternoon Jadon got his stitches removed. It was a semi-traumatic event for him. There were a lot of stitches to be removed. He did a great job. The first thing he said once they were removed was, “where is my pizza.” Funny kid. He was feeling well enough to visit some nurses on the surgical and rehab units before we departed. We did make homemade pizza for dinner for him and Kalina.
Monday night was a big night for Jadon. Since his stitches were removed he could take a shower! He was a little scared to sit without a brace. He has not done this since late July (except while he was in traction). He quickly overcame his fear and enjoyed getting really clean for the first time in a long time.
Kalina and Grandma Fry have been working hard on Kalina’s walking. She can take a few steps by herself. They have had lots of fun playing, too (well, at least Kalina has had fun).
We are looking forward to Thanksgiving tomorrow with Grandma Fry. We have a lot for which we are thankful this year.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
