A Cougar and Some Lights

I arrived this afternoon to find Jadon and his posse waiting by the giraffe entrance.  His halo was decorated with flashing lights.  This photo only has the purple lights.  Orange lights were added after this one was taken.

Kalina was excited to see me and screamed loud enough for everyone on the first floor to know that Dad had arrived.  Her big news was that she had just met Butch, the cougar, from WSU.  The WSU cheerleaders and Butch came to visit the playroom this afternoon.  Butch even helped Kalina with some crafts.

We had a fun visit from Ella, Kalina's classmate at Sorenson, her brother, Gavin, and their mom.  Kalina was happy to get a visitor of her own for a change.  She even showed Ella her "house" at the hospital, which is in a cabinet in the corner of our room.

It is Friday, so we had pizza from Delfino's.  Jadon ate like pizza was going out of style.

After dinner, Jadon's friend, Adam, was kind enough to bring his birthday party to the hospital.  Jadon got to participate in the present opening and cupcake feast (he watched the cupcake part).  Ember and I decided that we didn't go to the right kind of birthday parties as kids.  There was dancing and lightsaber fights and balloons and candy at Adam's party.  Jadon kept looking at me over his shoulder as if to say, "What can I say Dad, I have some crazy friends..."

With that I think I will close out the story of the day.  Jadon is pooped and just wrapped up his Skype call to his friend Chris.  Let the boys weekend begin...  Oh, and by the way, Jadon is now up to 20 pounds of traction.  Xrays are scheduled for Monday to see if there has been any change.
