Miracle League Baseball

Miracle League Baseball season has started (okay – last week but I am a little late posting this).  Jadon and Kalina are so excited to be playing this year. 

Jadon and Kalina were introduced to this by one of their little people friends.  She was the first person to sign up for the league when is started many years ago and now she is a coach and player.  Jadon and Kalina talked one of their other little people friends to join them in playing.  They all have a great time. 

Jadon and Kalina really enjoy hitting.  Jadon sits in the scooter to hit while Kalina sits on my knees.  They both run the bases on their scooters.  Kalina has received many comments on her pink heart bat.  It is so girly – so her. 

Jadon enjoys playing catcher when his team is in the field.  I think he likes being able to see all the action on the field.     

The first week the weather was cloudy and cool.  We had a few sprinkles at the end of the game.  Today, the weather was perfect: beautiful, sunny and warm. 

There is a similar league closer to our home, but we got hooked on this one after going to watch a few games last year.  The people are so friendly and welcoming. 

The Miracle League is lucky to play on a field built by the Rotary Club of Monroe.  The field was built for players with special needs and challenges.  It is awesome. 

We hope for many more sunny Saturdays for baseball!
