Out of the ICU

We were just moved out of the ICU. Hopefully, this time we will stay out!

Jadon had a better night. He needed to be rotated from side to side often but would fall back to sleep each time. He complains that his back hurts but we don't believe that the pain is too intense since repositioning him seems to help him relax. We are going to try to slowly decrease his pain med dose as the high level of opiate tends to keep him in a sort of daze.

He slept with his CPAP on all night and then refused to wear it this morning. He has been CPAP free all day with good oxygen levels. The ICU docs are by nature very conservative, so they left his central line in for one more day. They also asked that he wear CPAP again tonight but only while he sleeps. In my opinion, he is doing well enough to go home soon.

Once we got to the floor, he asked for Ember's cell phone so that he could call his "peeps". We smiled when we saw the room because it is the same room that our friend Jessica, who was in halo traction before Jadon, was in before she was discharged to go home. Let's hope that our 6th room at Children's will be our last...
