Surprise Move

Jadon has been in traction two weeks now.  He is doing so well.  He rarely complains (no surprise) and seems to be able to stay happy most of the time.  He is amazing.

Andy had a meeting here this morning so he arrived early.  Jadon was still sleeping but he and I were able to chat a little by ourselves - something we don't have much time to do these days.  Jadon and I went for a walk when Andy's meeting was ending and met him downstairs.

Kalina and Grandma arrived shortly after Andy left.  Jadon and I did some school work this morning and he and Grandma did some more after Kalina and I left for school.  Jadon was not able to Google Chat into class today.  We are hopeful that it will work tomorrow.

Kalina had a good day at school.  She was sad when we got there because she and I did not have a chance to go home before school.  We may have to make that a goal for the next few days.  She seems to be needing some Mom time by herself and I am happy to try to fill her need.  I, too, miss spending time with her during the week and our time at the hospital is just different.  Maybe she recognizes that she does not have my full attention when we are here.

When we returned Jadon had PT.  Today he had his first experience in the Rehab Gym.  Kalina was able to go, too.  They both had a great time.  Therapy can be so much fun.  Jadon worked hard.

When we returned from therapy we got some surprise news - a room in the Rehab Unit was available for us and we needed to move by 6:30 PM.  Just after we started packing, Elke came for a visit.  We quickly put her to work helping us "pack" and move all our stuff.  I decided that we have more stuff here for Kalina than Jadon.  :-)   We had almost everything moved  by the time Andy arrived around 5:40 PM.  He was surprised to find an empty room except a loaded bed.  We couldn't have done it so efficiently without Elke and Jadon's great nurse today.  Thanks for your help!

In the midst of moving, Jadon got his flu shot (already planned).  He got upset before hand but then was fine.  Hopefully he won't get any side effects.

After dinner we returned to a disorganized room.  We were lucky and we still have a single room.  It was getting late so Kalina, Andy and Grandma headed home.  Jadon and I organized his room before bed.  We have some good ideas for decorating...
