Happy Halloween! Even though Jadon was up later than usual last night, he was awake bright and early this morning (ok, maybe it was not bright yet).
He and I did some school work before Andy, Kalina and Grandma arrived. Jadon was very happy to attend class again this morning. He also visited with his friends during lunch and later in the afternoon for his class Halloween party. A big thank you to Mrs. C who is doing a great job of including him in the class and classroom activities.
Between school time, Jadon had two x-rays. We have not heard the results of the x-rays. Jadon's nurse did mention that there was a new order to increase the traction to 23 pounds tomorrow morning. We will see Dr. White again tomorrow and get the latest news.
Kalina had a pajama party at school today. She was very excited to wear her whale jammies. She loves them and would probably wear them 24 hours a day if we let her. She also enjoyed reverse trick-or-treating here at the hospital. She and Grandma or she and I would find people in the hallways and hand out candy. She loved it!
We had dinner here in the rehab family room, enjoying the glow from our pumpkins. Unfortunately, the hospital is warm and our pumpkins are not going to make it any longer.
Later in the evening Jadon had a visit from Heather (his bus driver from a few years ago) and her husband Larry. Heather was dressed as a clown, a surprise to Jadon and Kalina. Luckily, they recognized her voice and were not scared of her. What a nice way to end the day.
Jadon got lots of smiles with his decorated halo and traction pole. We like to make people smile.
