We have been truly blessed to have Andy's mother staying with us for the past few weeks. Today, her tour of duty ended and she flew home to Naperville. She will be coming back in mid-November to help us as Jadon recovers from his back surgery. We hope that she has a restful few weeks at home because Kalina is already planning for the games she wants to play with her when she comes back.
Ember's mom arrived this afternoon for the beginning of her time with us. She deserves an extra large medal because she has been in Evanston helping Chava with her newborn son, Grant, for the past 3 weeks. She flew out here to help us without even going home. She will be staying with us until Jadon's birthday.
Jadon and Dad had fun testing out the new Wii games that he got from Chelsea. Just when we needed a break from the Wii, Mrs. Charouhas arrived with Jadon's weekly assignments. They are still working to perfect the remote attendance after the initial success on Friday. Jadon hung on every word of Mrs. C's description of how the class reacted to seeing him on the screen. He has a pretty special 3rd grade class.
Jadon threw Mrs. C out the door (in the nicest possible way) around 3 PM so that he could escape the hospital with another day pass. When he heard that we were going to the Ram for dinner and walking to U. Village, his smile reached from ear to ear.
It was a bumpy mile walk but Jadon was giddy with excitement the entire way. We arrived to find U. Village a sea of purple and gold since the UW football game started at 7:30 tonight. We did manage to get a table and were joined by Alayne and Chris. Jadon's first question for Chris was, "What did the kids in class think about seeing me on Friday?" Did I mention that chatting with his classmates was important to him??
We're planning to play the Wii tonight until one of us falls asleep... I hope we get at least a little rest.
