Appointments and Visitors

The week after Camp Korey was a quiet week for us, compared to the previous ones.

On Monday Jadon and Kalina had appointments in the craniofacial clinic at Children’s.  All went well.  We learned Kalina’s hearing loss is most likely repairable with surgery.  Her doctor agreed that it is not worth doing the surgery now.  Kalina happily wears her hearing aids.  Her ears are also very small, making any surgery more difficult.  It is nice to know it is an option for the future.  We still need to do a little more research to determine what might be an option for Jadon.

On Wednesday, Jadon got an ear infection and Kalina got pink eye.  Luckily, they both were on the mend after a does or so of antibiotics and eye drops.

On Friday they saw their audiologist, also at Children’s.  They love seeing Julie.  We will have to return sooner than usual due to Jadon’s ear infection but that’s ok with them.

On Saturday we attended the MKA Family Picnic.  It is also nice to see Andy’s colleagues and their families.

On Saturday afternoon, our first visitors of the summer arrived – Andy’s brother Adam and his wife Allison.  Yeah!  We don’t get to see them very often since they live in Georgia so we were all very happy to see them.

On Sunday we took Adam and Allison to one of our favorite places – the Olympic Game Farm in Sequim.  We had a nice ferry ride and we all loved feeding the animals.  We went to dinner in West Seattle, a great place called Salty’s.  It is one of the nicer places we can go with Jadon and Kalina because they have food there they like.

Andy took the day off work Monday and took Allison and Adam to the Garden of Glass and Olympic Sculpture Park in the morning.  Adam and Allison also took a trip up the Space Needle.  We had a nice afternoon and evening at home.

Jadon and Kalina loved seeing Uncle Adam and Aunt Allison.  They are wondering when we can go to Georgia to see them and meet their pet bird in person.
