Miracle League Basketball

When we went to watch the Miracle League baseball games, we were told about the Miracle League basketball and bowling programs.   Today was the first basketball game.  I only registered Jadon to play.  You have to be 5 years old to play and I didn’t think Kalina would understand it well enough to play. 

We arrive at the Monroe YMCA and Jadon was a little tentative to play.  He has never really played.  He knows the basics but was not sure about actually playing.  Kalina, on the other hand, was ready to join in the fun.  We had her watch while the kids practiced.  They had some extra buddies today and two asked Kalina if she wanted to play with them.  Of course she said yes! 

Jadon played mostly on scooter.  It took him a little while to get comfortable and into the action.  Kalina used her walker.  She was exhausted at the end of the hour.  She did lots of running.  They each made several baskets and had fun!  We are already looking forward to next week.
