Jadon had another great day. He slept pretty well last night, only waking for the 4 hour vitals and neuro checks. We were happy to see Andy, Kalina and Grandma this morning.
Kalina and I left Jadon and Grandma this morning to walk across the street to their pediatrician for her 4 year check-up. Everything went well except Kalina was not happy about getting 5 shots.
We returned in time to visit with Jadon's first visitors, Danny and Diane from New Care (the home nursing care agency we use).
Around 11 AM the therapist came and we got Jadon is the wheelchair. He looks so good sitting up. He did not complain too much about it today and managed to stay upright for about 5 1/2 hours. It helps to have distractions, and we are getting pretty good at that. Jadon first requested a walk outside to get some fresh air. Then we went to lunch in the cafeteria. He likes the food there better than the food delivered to his room.
Jadon and I returned to his room for a bathroom break (not an easy task while in traction) and then his next visitors came - Alayne, Chris and Aaron. We took a walk to the playroom where Kalina and Grandma were playing. We returned to the room and Jadon and Chris played the Wii for a while (Aaron got to join in a little). Our good friend Jenine stopped by to say hi. She always makes Jadon smile. Later in the afternoon we got to see Masumi, Katrina and Carin. They had taken a class at Children's in the afternoon and came to see us when they we done.
I spent some time talking to Jadon's teacher. We are trying to get ichat to work so Jadon can video conference into class. I am not an apple person so wish us luck!
We ended the day with pizza from Delfino's - Jadon's request and one of our favorites. Grandma, Kalina and I are home for the night. Jadon had one more visitor after we left. Henry stopped by with a delivery of books for Jadon to borrow. He has lots of new reading material and is excited about that.
Jadon and Andy have big plans for their "boy night". I hope they manage to get some sleep. :-)
