The Advetures of Jadon and Kalina

The Advetures of Jadon and Kalina

Friends

We had a busy Sunday.  Jadon and Kalina were obviously tired from Saturday's adventures.  They both slept until around 8:20 AM (late for both of them).

Jadon had a nice surprise this morning.  His friends Owen, Ryan and Sarah came to visit around 9 AM.  They only decided to come last night after Jadon was asleep so he got the news about their visit just before they came.

Kalina, Grandma and I made it here by around 10:30 AM.  Andy went to U Village and we had carry out from The Ram for lunch - one of Jadon's favorite places to eat.

After lunch Mrs.C came to visit with Jadon's school laptop.  We are all very excited because we managed to get Google Chat to work.  Yeah!  Jadon is ready to "attend" class tomorrow morning.  He is so excited.  Mrs. C also brought with her more school work for Jadon.  He really does not mind because it helps to pass the time and he does not want to be far behind in his work when he returns to school.

Kalina got to spend some time in the playroom with Grandma and Andy.  She loved helping a little girl there.

Later in the afternoon Jadon's classmates Spencer and Reece (and Spencer's mom Suzanne) came to visit. The boys had a nice chat.  Jadon got to hear some more about what in happening in C-1.  Jadon also got in his traction walker and showed his friends what he can do it that.

After that, Julianna, Alicia and Chris Barker came to visit.  Kalina was happy to see Julianna.  Alicia helped Jadon with some LEGO construction.  While they were here, Addison and Brook McDaniel came.  Kalina also considers Addison her friend and was excited by their arrival.  Jadon was thrilled to have a room full of friends.

After all the visitors departed it was time to get Jadon clean.  We gave him a shower.  It is not a simple task because someone always has to be providing traction to Jadon when he is not actually attached to a traction device.  This means holding onto his halo and pulling up so his head does not feel too heavy.  Andy remembered to bring his swim shorts and stood in the shower while Jadon sat on the shower bench.  Jadon was a little nervous but had a big smile on his face as he snuggled in the blankets after it was done.

We had a nice dinner in Jadon's room and then Andy, Kalina and Grandma headed for home.  Kalina is still sad when she leaves.  She likes to tell me she is going to cry every time she leaves and I stay with Jadon.  That does not really help the situation.  I hate to see her cry as she leaves. Luckily, the crying usually does not last too long.

We end this weekend with an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for all of Jadon's friends.  He loves the visitors that come to see him but also appreciates the greetings that are coming from near and far in the form of cards, letters (he has two secret pals sending him letters and packages), e-cards, prayers and calls.  We are truly blessed.
