O
ur next adventures took us back
to one of our favorite places to visit – Park City, Utah. We were not planning any more trips after our
earlier travels in the summer but decided to add one more. Our excuse was to celebrate Andy’s birthday,
a little late. We left late Monday
night, around 9:30 PM. Jadon and Kalina
were asleep before too long. Andy drive
a few hours to eastern Washington and then I took over driving. I really don’t mind driving at night. It is peaceful and the road is empty. We took a slightly different route than usual
to get to Park City. We drove through
part of Nevada, another new state for Jadon and Kalina. Unfortunately, the part of Nevada through
which we drove was pretty desolate. We
could not even manage to find a place to eat.
We did see the salt flats. We got
to Park City around 3 PM.
This really was a vacation to
relax. This was our fourth time to Park
City and we have always stayed at the same place, The Waldorf Astoria. It is beautiful and relatively empty in the
summer (since Park City is a ski town).
We have already done a lot of the tourist things and explored the
surrounding area. We enjoyed spending
time at the pool, trying some new restaurants, visiting some favorite
restaurants, shopping, and just hanging in our room playing games and reading. We got to see a project MKA did in Salt Lake
City, City Creek.
We left on Saturday and spent the
night outside Boise on the way home. On Sunday we were able to have lunch at
one of Jadon’s favorite pizza places in eastern Washington before making it
home.
We all had an enjoyable, relaxing time.
