Jadon and Kalina had their first
game of Miracle League Bowling on Saturday.
They had a great time. They got
to play in the same lane as our friend Michelle, also a little person. Kalina “crushed” Jadon and Michelle in the
first game and scored a 101. Yes, she
did say, “I crushed you”! Jadon won the
second game with a 115 while Kalina got a 107.
The best part of the morning was
watching Jadon bowl the first game all by himself. He could carry the ball from the rack to the
ramp. He could put the ball on the ramp (they had a low ramp) and push it down
the ramp. He has never bowled unassisted
before this. It was great to see him
having fun and being so independent. For
the second game, we helped him use a heavier ball and a taller ramp. That is fun, too. I think the plan for the next weeks will be
for him to play one game by himself and then help him. He needs a little help by then, anyway. He worked hard to do everything by himself.
Kalina is not tall enough to
reach the low ramp or carry the ball by herself but she’ll get there. She has a great role model in her big
brother.
How fun for the kids. I am the Grandma of a 6month old dyastropic dysplasia little boy. My daughter and I have a few questions about when your kids were younger. lesliefpack@gmail.com
