A Busy Thursday

It is Friday morning and Jadon and Kalina are still sleeping.  We had a busy day yesterday, compared to how we have spent most of our days recently.

As you can probably tell, Jadon loves school.  He always has and I hope it is a trait that lasts forever.  After pleading with me to take him to school on Monday, I knew his return to school could not be too far in the future.  That day came yesterday.   To see the joy on his face when we arrived was go great for me.  He got lots of hugs and high-fives.  Jadon went in the morning and lasted about 2 hours.  He still needs to lie down quite a bit but Mrs. Charouhas and the C-1 kids don’t mind.  He loves being there.

Kalina and Grandma had a fun morning playing at home.  She really wanted to go to see Jadon’s class but I figured she would be too much of a distraction.

After lunch and some time quietly playing, Jadon’s therapist from school, Jane, came to visit.  She thought he looked great.  She gave us a few exercises to do.  We even got Jadon to stand and take 7 steps with his walker.  Standing is really hard for him.  His legs are weak and feel a little different from not really being used in so long.  Jadon is also very scared to stand and walk, understandably.

Later in the afternoon Louise and Aiden came to visit.  Jadon was excited to see them, even though he was a little tired from Jane’s visit.  Kalina was also happy to see Louise since she has a long stretch of no school due to conferences (she does not have school from yesterday until after Thanksgiving).

After dinner we had a visit from Pam and Bob.  They are so kind and thoughtful.  Jadon got another Star Wars book from Pam and had to read it right away.  Kalian got a cool kaleidoscope.  Kalina loved showing them her toys and books and things.  I think they may have to come for another visit to play some more.

Andy was lucky and got on an earlier than planned flight home from San Francisco, where he was for the day.  Jadon and Kalina stayed awake to see him.  They were both exhausted and fell asleep in no time last night.

With school being a success yesterday, we are going to try again today.  Kalina will get some more time to play with Grandma.

We wish you all a wonderful Friday and weekend.
