The Advetures of Jadon and Kalina

The Advetures of Jadon and Kalina

10 and a half hours

I find Jadon's usual sleep habits to be pretty remarkable.  When given the opportunity (not attached to anything), he is a very active sleeper.  He manages to move all over the place and not know it.  I guess I should not be too surprised by the fact that he manged to have neuro and vital sign checks during the night without really noticing.  I think he barely opened his eyes (only enough to satisfy the neuro checks).  He said he only remembered one of the three checks in the morning.  I hope every night goes as well as last night.  What an answer to prayer.

We had a good day.  Jadon's sitting and standing traction weight was increased to 16 pounds.  He does not seem to notice the change.  Jadon was in his wheelchair by about 8:30 AM and lasted about 10 and a half hours!   Another great answer to prayer.

Grandma stayed with Jadon today while I took Kalina to school and did some things at home.  I also was able to be at school with Kalina for pictures.  After initially crying, she managed to do ok.

Julie, a friend from LPA, came to visit while I was gone with Kalina.  Jadon and Grandma enjoyed the visit.

Kalina and I made it back to the hospital for PT.  Jadon spent some time in the walker again today.  He and Kalina had fun racing each other down the hall.  One of the ortho nurses told us they were too happy and loud to be in the hospital (joking).  I told her we would be happy to be discharged (we wish).

We had a quiet evening with Andy, Kalina and Grandma.  Kalina was sad to leave us tonight but, as Jadon said, one week down and not sure how many to go (we are not promising any release date after his back surgery).

Jadon had fun using Skype tonight to chat with a classmate.  He so enjoys being able to keep in touch with people.  He loves getting e-mail and snail mail.

We are looking forward to a great day tomorrow.
