At the end of February we had the
privilege of attending the third annual skeletal dysplasia family weekend at
Camp Korey. This is a weekend we all
anticipate with great joy. Jadon is
always excited to go to Camp or do anything related to Camp Korey. Kalina knows she still has one more year
until she can go to summer camp so the family weekend is especially exciting
for her.
As always, the Camp Korey staff
and volunteers arranged a lively, fun-filled weekend. We had fun doing crafts, singing songs, visiting
with friends, creating an egg parachute (for an egg drop challenge) and
more. Kalina even got me to dance on
stage with her, her friend, her friend’s mom, and her a camp buddy for Stage
Morning. Wow! Camp Korey is full of firsts.
We had a great Family Pal. Jadon and Kalina loved her. She also happened to be a trach trained
nurse. Jadon and Kalina enjoyed spending
time with her and Nurse Brenda during the parent activities.
Mother Nature didn’t disappoint us. Like the past two skeletal dysplasia family
weekends, we had some snow. Not enough
to get us stuck anywhere, but enough to make everything look beautiful and magical.
Jadon is eagerly anticipating
summer camp. How many weeks until August
11?
Some of these great pictures were taken by Nurse Brenda.
