The Adventures of Jadon and Kalina: Halloween Firsts

We had a fun Halloween. Kalina and Jadon both had parties in their classes at school. Kalina’s class did not wear costumes (pretty common for preschools). Jadon’s class did and guess who wore a costume for the first time to school? Jadon! The kids in his class loved his costume. He was still getting comments today when I took him to school.

Kalina also decided she wanted to go trick-or-treating. She said I could have all her candy since she, and Jadon, don’t like candy. They have never been trick-or-treating for this reason and because they love to answer to the door. I asked her where she wanted to go, thinking she would say to the neighbors. No. She wanted to go to her friend Grace’s house. So after dinner, she, Jadon and I headed to Grace’s house (it is about a 5 minute drive). We trick-or-treated and stayed for about half an hour playing and chatting. We left and both kids kept saying how much they loved it. I told them that was not typical trick-or-treating but they said it was better than that. They called it a trick-or-treat play date.
