No Brace

He did it!  Jadon decided on his own that today was the day he did not need to wear his brace to school.

He has had a brace (except when in traction) since July 28, 2011.  That is a long time!  He has been through so much since then.  I am so happy for him that he now feels comfortable and strong enough to not wear it at school.  I have to admit, I did shed some tears of joy last night when he told me he didn’t think he needed it any more.  Yes, I knew the time would come.  We just had to be patient and honor his desire to feel safe at school.  He really does know his body the best and I am glad he made the decision on his own.  Sure, there was some encouraging along the way, but the decision was his and I am glad we let him do it his way.
