Things here have been going well. Jadon is pleased to report that he has not worn his brace the past three weekends! He still wears it to school but now takes it off pretty much a soon as he gets home. His strength is good. He is probably close to where he was last July – before his second rod broke, but it is hard to remember exactly what he was like so long ago.
School is going well for Jadon. His least favorite subject is cursive but he still does pretty well. He still says his favorite subjects are recess, PE and music. Speaking of music, Andy started giving him some music lessons. In one lesson Jadon learned how to play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on the keyboard. He seems musically inclined and we want him to be able to explore his options in doing something he enjoys.
Kalina still loves school, too. This past weekend she was invited to a birthday party for a classmate. It was a pool party so I was a little nervous, but she sat at the edge of the pool and played with toys and splashed her feet. What a fun time!
Kalina continues to practice her walking. She is getting better and can take a few steps by herself. She is pretty determined so she insists we practice often. Kalina also started liking her nails painted. She looks like such a little lady with painted fingernails and toenails.
Jadon and Kalina have spring break starting Friday. We are going to Illinois for 5 days. We are looking forward to seeing a lot of our families. We will see both sets of grandparents, all 4 cousins, and all the aunts and uncles but one set (we will miss seeing Uncle Adam and Aunt Allison). A big pizza party is planned for Saturday night. We’ll spend the rest of break at home.
