The Advetures of Jadon and Kalina

Rest

Jadon and Andy had another pretty restless night.  I would guess part of it was Jadon getting used to his chest tube.  I am thankful I got to sleep at home.

Kalina, Frank and I got here later this morning.  Jadon looked so much better.  He had a little breakfast and was watching a movie.  His breathing is much improved.

His x-ray this morning showed that his one lung is still a little deflated.  He is using CPAP all the time right now to help with that.  Jadon must recognize that it is helping because he is not complaining about it.  He still needs a little extra oxygen, too.  Hopefully, his need for these will decrease sooner than later.

His chest tube is still draining some.  He must feel better without all that fluid!

Jadon had a CT scan this morning to make sure all his new hardware is still in place.  Everything looked good.

The doctors here decided it was best to keep him in the ICU for now.  They will reevaluate him tomorrow morning.  We are happy with this decision.

Jadon has been resting a lot today.  He has not slept well since his surgery on Monday and he is now finally able to get comfortable.   With his chest tube, we are not really able to work on ortho stuff, like PT, so we are just letting him rest and relax.

Jadon had short visits from Alayne, Chris and Aaron and Danny and Jamie.  His friend Jenine came to visit but both he and Andy were taking much needed naps.

It was a beautiful day here and we were able to take advantage of that.  Andy, Kalina and Frank went to U Village for lunch.  Later in the afternoon, Kalina, Frank and I went for a long walk.  We returned with dinner that we could eat outside the ICU in shifts.  It felt good to get some fresh air.

Thank you all again for your prayers that come from near and far.  We so appreciate them.
